FUDGE

Caregiving is on my mind.....

I learnt a new acronym the other day, related to caregiving - FUDGE

Fear: when my father-in-law felt too weak and couldn't move and blood tests showed a dangerously low hemoglobin level

Uncertainty: when my 11 yo was in tears and confided in her dad that me asking her to finish writing her story over the summer break was too stressful for her

Doubt: when we moved for a semester to a bigger city and the kids hated their new school (yes, only 1 semester!)

Guilt: when my mom had her stroke 10 years ago and I couldn't be there for her or my dad & sister & b-i-l over those countless sleepless nights

Exhaustion: as Spring break nears, there's Strings recital/ballet performance/piano district auditions/chess championships all scheduled on the same weekend for the kids

Life, family, relationships, caregiving - so rewarding, but oh, so FUDGE!
