About CuroNow
CuroNow is a care coordination platform based in Madison. Home care agencies, home health aides, and families lose track of each other between visits. A subtle change gets noticed by an aide on Tuesday and never reaches the daughter who lives three states away. We close that gap with a two character text message an aide sends after each shift, and a shared Care Hub the family can see.
Home care agencies pay for CuroNow. Families and home health aides use it free.
We are two co-founders and a small engineering team. Our New Jersey work is moving from pilot to a paid rollout, we are expanding into New York, and a second Wisconsin home care agency is scheduled to launch next month.
We are also part of a National Institutes of Health funded research collaboration with Assistant Professor Paula Voorheis, PhD, of the Clinical Practice, Innovation, and Research Division at University of Wisconsin Madison. Her work sits at the intersection of behavioral science and human centered design, studying how digital health tools get built, adopted, and actually used. If you are interested in why people do or do not change behavior, that research runs alongside everything you will work on here.
Our first engineering hire started as an intern
Caleb Hamilton joined CuroNow as a University of Wisconsin Madison undergraduate. He is now our founding engineer and owns the entire back end of our platform, including the family app and the administrative portal. A second UW-Madison alum and engineer owns our front end and is building the home health aide app.
People join this company because of the problem it solves.
Suman Banerjee, our Acting Chief Technology Officer, is a professor of Computer Sciences right here at UW Madison and leads our AI strategy.
Our technical advisor is a former tech leader from Amazon.
Our advisory board includes a former Executive Vice President at a national home health and hospice company, a Chief Digital Officer at a Fortune 25 health care company, and University of Wisconsin Madison faculty across occupational therapy and commercialization.
We are 2026 graduates of the Creative Destruction Lab Wisconsin Health and Wellness stream, a nine month mentorship program for early stage health and technology companies hosted at University of Wisconsin Madison.
These positions are unpaid. You will leave with portfolio work, a written recommendation, a standing reference, and a real understanding of how an early stage health care company operates.
Responsibilities of the Role
You will apply what you are learning right now to a live company rather than a case study. You will not shadow anyone. The work goes out.
Content creation. Draft posts for LinkedIn and Instagram. Write in plain language for a health care audience. Turn founder conversations, advisor insights, and pilot learnings into short posts.
Content calendar. Build and maintain the schedule. Keep it current and tell us when we are behind.
Newsletter. Build our newsletter from the ground up. Design the template in Squarespace Email Campaigns, document the production process, set the content calendar, and run two or three sends to prove the system works. We approve every send before it goes out. You leave us with something that keeps running.
Search engine optimization. We have a defined list of website work waiting, including structured data markup, an llms.txt file for artificial intelligence search tools, and site content updates. You will work through it with direction from us. If you have taken a digital marketing course, you have already seen most of these concepts. Here you will implement them.
Analytics. Pull performance data from Google Search Console and native platform analytics. Tell us what moved and what did not. Your reading of the numbers matters more than the format of the report.
Community monitoring. Watch for comments, messages, and mentions. Flag them to us. You will not respond on our behalf. We will explain why in your first week.
Reviews and testimonials. Build our approach to collecting family testimonials and app store reviews. Draft the outreach, write up what comes back, and place it on the website where it does the most good. You will not contact families directly. We handle that, and you will learn why.
Brand consistency. We have documented brand standards. Part of this role is holding the line on them.
Position reports to Pat Setji, Co Founder and Chief Revenue Officer.
Who should apply
We are not filtering by major. Marketing, communications, journalism, and design are obvious fits. So are business, entrepreneurship, nursing, social work, and human development, because those students often understand the caregiving problem better than anyone with exclusively a marketing degree. If you can write clearly or design well, and you think about the person on the other end before you think about the piece, apply.
Where this leads
Health technology companies, health systems, healthcare, home care and hospice organizations, and consumer health startups all hire Marketing Coordinators, Social Media Coordinators, and Brand Designers. Those postings ask for proven experience, search engine optimization familiarity, analytics fluency, and industry knowledge. A semester here gives you all four, plus a portfolio and a reference from a founder who watched you do the work.
Our own founders came out of technology and health care. Rukmini Banerjee spent her career in C suite roles at technology companies built for scale, with global commercialization experience. Pat Setji is a health care operator who has worked in clinical and care settings and in commercial roles at companies including Pfizer and Abbott (formerly Exact Sciences). Neither path started in home care. The skills transfer.
What we are looking for
Judgment.
We speak to three different audiences and they want completely different things.
Home care agency owners and operators care about staff efficiency, client retention, and whether this creates work for their team.
Family caregivers are stretched thin. Most did not choose the role and many do not think of themselves as caregivers at all.
Home health aides work hard, receive little recognition, and have no patience for one more app or one more login.
Something that lands with a family caregiver can fall flat with a home care agency owner. Knowing the difference is the job.
We also want someone who writes or designs clearly, works without much supervision, asks when unsure rather than guessing, and is comfortable in a company where things change week to week.
Working in health care
What you publish sits next to real families and real medical situations. The rules are different here.
You will learn what we can and cannot say publicly, why we never post about an identifiable client, and how privacy regulation shapes marketing in this industry. We will teach you this. Take it seriously.
We sell to home care agencies today. Families and caregivers are already using the product, and building directly for them is on our roadmap. You will work on both sides of that.
You will not have access to family information, caregivers or home health aide responses, or any care data. You will not contact our pilot partners directly. You will sign a confidentiality agreement before you start.
Academic credit
These positions are structured to qualify for internship credit. Depending on your school or department, that may be General Business 450, Communication Arts 614, Inter-LS 260, or another course. You enroll through your own department. We will provide an offer letter on company letterhead, a named supervisor, and the mid semester and end of semester evaluations your course requires.
Requirements differ by department, including minimum weekly hours and total hours. Confirm the specifics with your academic advisor
How to apply
Send a short note about why this interests you, plus this exercise.
Take one thing about CuroNow from curonow.com and write about it twice. Once as a LinkedIn post for a home care agency owner. Once as an Instagram caption for a family caregiver. Then add two sentences on something you would not post about a health care company and why.
We care more about the exercise than your resume.
Send to [email address] with your resume. Reviewing on a rolling basis until filled.
CuroNow is an equal opportunity employer.
